Barcelona began their pre-season campaign with a defeat on penalties to Birmingham City at St. Andrew's.
With the majority of first-team players missing following their World Cup exertions, Hansi Flick fielded a team of tyros.
August Priske gave the Blues the lead in a packed out St. Andrew's, with Jude Bellingham also in attendance. Hamza Abdelkarim brought Barcelona level and then put the Spanish side in the lead at the hour-mark.
But, Jhon Solis equalised with a well-worked move to force the game into penalties, where James Beadle saved three Barcelona efforts to help Birmingham finish pre-season unbeaten.
