Crysencio Summerville messes up Paneka penalty for Al Hilal

Crysencio Summerville got a Panenka penalty badly wrong for Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.

The Netherlands international stepped up from the penalty spot with his side leading Al Fayha 2-0 on Thursday night in Saudi Arabia.

But after disguising his method, Summerville's attempted dink was far too powerful and ballooned over the crossbar.

He had taken the penalty despite the presence of teammate Karim Benzema on the pitch.

Al Hilal eventually wrapped up a 3-0 win to spare the blushes of their new winger who was signed this summer from West Ham, who have been relegated from the Premier League to the Championship.

Summerville can count Benzema, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Darwin Núñez, Theo Hernández, Kalidou Koulibaly and Rúben Neves as high-profile teammates at his new club.

Neves took a penalty in Al Hilal's first match of the new league season, with Summerville also on the pitch at the time, and scored but the Portugal international had been substituted shortly before the failed Panenka on Thursday.

Summerville is yet to get off the mark for Al Hilal after two Saudi Pro League games. His side sit top of the table at this early stage.

Summerville was picked for the Netherlands' World Cup squad this summer, making his international debut in June in a pre-tournament friendly. But their World Cup ended in a penalty shootout defeat to Morocco when Summerville also missed his effort.
