USMNT's Ricardo Pepi, Sergiño Dest score in PSV 5-1 rout

United States duo Ricardo Pepi and Sergiño Dest were on the scoresheet for PSV Eindhoven who continued their Eredivisie season with a 5-1 hammering of Groningen on Sunday.

Brynjólfur Willumsson gave Groningen an early lead but an own goal by Thijmen Blokzijl after 11 minutes levelled the score, before Ivan Perisic scored a second for PSV after 35 minutes.

In first half stoppage time, USMNT international Pepi made it 3-0 from the penalty spot.

Perisic scored his second in the 53rd minute before Dest scored the fifth, three minutes later.

Pepi and Dest, who both represented the U.S. on home soil this summer at the World Cup, have returned to club duties in the Netherlands where PSV sit third after three matches. AZ Alkmaar top the Eredivisie, the only side with a perfect nine points after three games.

PSV are next in action next Sunday when they travel to Utrecht.
