Álvaro Morata is in advanced talks to join Spanish second-division club Leganés on a season-long loan from Como, sources have told ESPN.
Under contract with Como until June 2029, the veteran Spanish striker has attracted interest from LaLiga sides and also from Liga MX clubs in this transfer window.
According to sources, Morata's wish is to return to his native Madrid and club Leganés offers him that possibility.
If the move goes ahead, Leganés will be Morata's fourth club in the space of three seasons, with the former Spain captain having played for Galatasaray, Milan and Como.
Morata, 33, scored only one goal in 30 appearances while on a season-loan at Como from AC Milan.
He made his switch to Como permanent earlier this summer.
Morata would bring experience to a Leganés side that is looking to return to LaLiga after being relegated in the 2024-25 campaign.
"We can't talk about players who aren't ours," Leganés sporting director Andrés Pardo said about Morata's potential arrival.
"But I'd like to take this opportunity to tell him, if he's watching, that Leganés' doors are open."

Morata began his career with Real Madrid before moving to Juventus in 2014. He helped Madrid win the Champions League, LaLiga and Copa del Rey twice each and Juventus claim two Serie A titles.
He also had a spell in the Premier League at Chelsea.
