Cardinals waiting for news on TE Ifeanyi Momah's knee injury

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals' tight end room has become a carousel of injuries.

As Troy Niklas returned to practice Wednesday, Ifeanyi Momah sat out with a knee injury he suffered Tuesday. Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said he didn't know yet how serious the injury was.

"We will evaluate that as the week goes on," Arians said.

With Momah's status uncertain, and Niklas and Jermaine Gresham returning to full health Wednesday, the Cardinals were left with one healthy tight end, Darren Fells. The possibility, albeit unlikely with Gresham practicing two straight days, of playing Sunday with just one tight end wasn't daunting for Arians, who called the idea "no big deal." The Cardinals played Thursday's preseason finale without any tight ends after Gerald Christian suffered a knee injury that landed him on injured reserve.

Arians said Niklas practiced well as his hamstring continued to heal.

"He had a really good day blocking," Arians said. "It's been a tough road for him injury-wise ever since he got here, so hopefully he is on a healthy stretch now."

Guard Mike Iupati did not practice, either.

The first injury report of the season listed wide receiver Michael Floyd as limited. It also listed Gresham as limited despite Arians saying Gresham practiced in full.
