TEMPE, Ariz. – The bye week has done wonders for the Arizona Cardinals' health.
They’ll enter Saturday’s NFC divisional playoff against the Green Bay Packers with only five players on the injury report, just two of whom are questionable for the game.
Defensive tackles Josh Mauro (calf) and Frostee Rucker (ankle) were both questionable but are expected to play, leaving Arizona with the possibility of seven healthy scratches Saturday night.
“That’s unusual for this time of year,” coach Bruce Arians said. “But, putting two guys on IR, that kind of makes two other guys healthy real quick.”
On Tuesday, the Cardinals put outside linebacker Alex Okafor (toe) on the non-football injury list and defensive tackle Cory Redding (ankle) on injured reserve.
Listed as probable for Saturday were outside linebacker Markus Golden (knee), left guard Mike Iupati (shoulder) and quarterback Carson Palmer (right index finger).
Arians, who won two Super Bowls as an assistant in Pittsburgh, said he has had healthy rosters heading into the playoffs before, and the result was a title.
“I can’t say that we haven’t had everybody ready to roll a couple times when we went all the way,” he said.
