Rex Ryan doesn't expect 'Hard Knocks' to feature Bills

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Buffalo Bills seem like a natural fit for HBO's "Hard Knocks" series this summer: they have an entertaining head coach (Rex Ryan), his equally gregarious twin brother (Rob Ryan), the NFL's first full-time female coach (Kathryn Smith) and some big-name offensive stars (LeSean McCoy and Sammy Watkins).

However, Ryan doesn't expect the Bills to be interested in being featured on the series, nor does he anticipate the NFL forcing the show upon the team.

"My understanding is that it was going to New Orleans or the Rams, or somebody," he said at the AFC coaches' breakfast Tuesday at the NFL owners meetings. "I’m OK with that."

The Bills are among seven teams the NFL could require to participate in "Hard Knocks," as they don't meet any of the league's criteria for exclusion: having a first-year head coach, making the playoffs in the past two seasons or being featured on the program over the past 10 years.
