CINCINNATI -- Two players the Cincinnati Bengals would probably like to keep healthy at all costs led a long list of names on Wednesday's injury report.
Quarterback Andy Dalton (right shoulder) and tight end Tyler Eifert (knee) were both listed as limited in Wednesday's practice, which was a light walkthrough following their Monday night loss to the New York Giants.
The Bengals also cut their practice short Wednesday, presumably to allow players to rest as much as possible on a short week.
Dalton conducted his weekly news conference as normal Wednesday without a mention of the shoulder injury, and he did not come out of Monday night's game at all. However, Dalton has taken quite a beating this season. He was sacked three times and hit a total of six times Monday night, so it's not surprising to see his name pop up on the injury report.
Eifert's injury is new. He missed the first part of the season while rehabbing from offseason ankle surgery, and then had a two-week setback after injuring his back before making his season debut against the Cleveland Browns Oct. 23. He played 81 percent of the offensive snaps vs. the Giants.
A.J. Green, who appeared hobbled at times against the Giants, was not on the injury report.
Thursday's practice will be the most important, as it will likely be the only time this week the Bengals practice in full pads. If Dalton and Eifert aren't practicing as normal Thursday, there could be cause for concern. For now, it's difficult to tell the level of injury vs. residual post-game soreness until they put pads back on.
Also limited Wednesday for the Bengals: guard Clint Boling (shoulder), defensive end Wallace Gilberry (calf), defensive end Michael Johnson (calf), wide receiver Brandon LaFell (knee) and linebacker Rey Maualuga (fibula).
Maualuga, who missed all of last week and did not play vs. the Giants, did rehab work off to the side during the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media.
Safety George Iloka (shin) and wide receiver James Wright (hamstring) participated fully.
Notable on the Buffalo Bills' injury report was wide receiver Brandon Tate, who was cut by the Bengals during the preseason in favor of Alex Erickson. Tate (concussion) was listed as limited.
