Thad Lewis guides TD drive with Johnny Manziel sidelined

Here are some highs and lows in terms of individual performances from the Cleveland Browns win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

HIGHS

Desmond Bryant: Two sacks in one possession stand out. Bryant is a very talented, underrated player who showed he can line up at different spots and be effective.

Thad Lewis: He’s been running third and fourth team through preseason and training camp, but given a chance with Johnny Manziel injured Lewis threw a lovely deep sideline ball while being hit to Josh Lenz, then ran for a touchdown.

Terrelle Pryor: Pryor didn’t play, but it might not matter. Game announcers on WEWS-Channel 5 said before and during the game that Mike Pettine said Pryor did not have to play the final two games to make the team as a wide receiver.

LOWS

Duke Johnson: Johnson didn’t get on the field until the third preseason game, then left in the second quarter with a concussion. Johnson now will be out again as he enters the NFL concussion protocol.

Pierre Desir: See the entry for Johnson. Desir had moved into the third corner spot early in camp, then missed two games with a hamstring. In the Bucs win, he was blindsided on a block and also left with a concussion.
