INDIANAPOLIS -- He's not at the top of the Green Bay Packers' free-agent priority list -- that spot is reserved for receiver Randall Cobb -- but veteran fullback John Kuhn could still be in the team's plans for 2015.
Kuhn's agent, Kevin Gold, said he has a meeting scheduled for Thursday with the Packers to talk about a contract for next season.
That doesn't mean Kuhn's return to the Packers is a sure thing. They have 14 free agents, including 11 of them unrestricted like Kuhn, and there's a good chance they will have discussions with the agents for most -- if not all -- of them at some point over the next three weeks before free agency begins.
Kuhn played last season under a one-year, $1.03 million contract. That deal wasn't signed until April 4, nearly a month into free agency. Given the low demand for fullbacks, it's possible the Packers might wait that long again if they intend to bring him back for another season. They don't have another fullback on their roster.
At age 32, Kuhn made the Pro Bowl and was a first-team All-Pro selection last season despite playing only 21.3 percent of the offensive snaps.
