GREEN BAY, Wis. – As banged up as the Green Bay Packers seemed during the 2015 season, they actually finished the year with their fewest players on injured reserve since 2011.
When Andrew Quarless was placed on injured reserve last week, one day before the NFC divisional playoff loss at Arizona, he became the seventh player to be put down for the season. Quarless had been on the temporary IR list earlier in the season because of the same knee injury.
Here are the Packers' injured-reserve totals from the last six seasons:
2015: Seven
2014: 10
2013: 15
2012: Eight
2011: Six
2010: 15
In addition to Quarless, the other players on IR were: linebacker Sam Barrington (foot), defense tackle Josh Boyd (ankle), long snapper Brett Goode (knee), receiver Ty Montgomery (ankle), receiver Jordy Nelson (knee) and safety Sean Richardson (neck).
In related numbers, here’s a look at how many players the Packers used on offense, defense and special teams this season compared to the previous two years.
