Packers add outside linebacker who played in Super Bowl 50

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers signed free agent Lerentee McCray on Monday, his agent confirmed to ESPN.com.

Although McCray was technically a street free agent, this isn’t just another offseason signing of someone who never played in the NFL.

The outside linebacker has two seasons worth of on-field experience with the Denver Broncos and was active for Super Bowl 50. He was on the field for 28 plays -- all on special teams -- in Denver’s Super Bowl win.

He was a restricted free agent, but the Broncos declined to tender him. The minimum tender would have paid McCray $1.671 million if he made the team this year.

In 27 career games, including playoffs, McCray has played 253 snaps on defense with 21 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He originally entered the NFL in 2013 as an undrafted free agent from Florida. He missed his entire rookie season because of an ankle injury but has been on the Broncos’ 53-man roster each of the last two years.

The Packers also have re-signed utility offensive lineman Don Barclay. He has started 26 games over the last four years, including four at right tackle and one at left tackle last season. No guarantee he'll make the roster. He'll have to compete for a backup job again.
