Packers sign rookie CB Warren Gatewood, back at 90-man roster limit

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Barring a last-minute change, the Green Bay Packers appear to have set their training camp roster. They filled the final open spot on Wednesday when general manager Ted Thompson signed cornerback Warren Gatewood.

The Packers were at 88 players – two under the training camp limit – last week before they added rookie running back Brandon Ross.

Gatewood, another undrafted rookie, played at Alcorn State. The 5-foot-11 native of Baltimore had eight career interceptions, including three last year in the SWAC title game against Grambling.

There’s always the possibility the Packers could make another move before the first training camp practice on Tuesday. Players report to Green Bay on Monday for physicals.

However, the last two moves would appear to close the door, at least for the time being, on a return by veteran fullback John Kuhn, who has not been re-signed. Another veteran, long snapper Brett Goode, also remains unsigned and is a candidate to return when he's cleared after tearing his ACL last December.
