INDIANAPOLIS -- There was oncern, as expected, once the Indianapolis Colts announced that they re-signed quarterback Josh Johnson on Wednesday.
Some wondered what that means for starter Andrew Luck. Well, I’ve been told that the plan is for Luck start against the Houston Texans after missing a game with a shouldr injury. The Colts have to take the safe approach, because you never know what can happen between now and Thursday night. Also, veteran backup Matt Hasselbeck missed practice Tuesday with an illness.
The Colts can’t afford to head into the game with their only two quarterbacks on the roster dealing with a shoulder injury and an illness. Dealing with Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is challenging enough when completely healthy.
The Colts placed cornerback Jalil Brown on injured reserve to make room for Johnson on the roster.
