Patriots bring back Casey Walker to add depth to DT corps

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots signed free agent defensive tackle Casey Walker on Friday, reuniting with a player who spent part of the 2014 season on their practice squad and active roster.

The 6-foot-1, 330-pound Walker left the Patriots on Dec. 16 when the Ravens signed him off the practice squad. He played in one regular-season game for Baltimore last year. He was waived on Aug. 5.

The addition of Walker gives the Patriots another big body at the heart of the line of scrimmage.

I split the defensive tackles into two categories -- the "bigs" and the "penetrators" -- and Walker falls more into the first category. Some players, such as first-round draft choice Malcom Brown, could live in both categories.
