FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The theme among New England Patriots players in the locker room Monday was that they are moving on quickly from Sunday's surprising 35-28 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. It's on to Houston.
With this in mind, here is a snapshot look at the various Patriots-based ties with the Texans:
Bill O'Brien (head coach): Served as Patriots offensive assistant in 2007, wide receivers coach in 2008, then was quarterbacks coach/offensive coordinator from 2009-11.
Romeo Crennel (defensive coordinator): Patriots defensive line coach from 1993-96, and defensive coordinator from 2001-04 as part of three Super Bowl-winning teams.
George Godsey (offensive coordinator): Offensive assistant in 2011, tight ends coach from 2012-13.
Mike Vrabel (linebacker coach): Linebacker for Patriots from 2001-08, and part of three Super Bowl-winning teams.
Vince Wilfork (defensive tackle): Stalwart in the middle of the defense from 2004-14, and part of two Super Bowl-winning teams.
Brian Hoyer (quarterback): Backup behind Tom Brady from 2009-11.
Anthony Pleasant (defensive assistant): Defensive end with the Patriots from 2001-03 and part of two Super Bowl-winning teams.
Bobby Grier (senior personnel advisor): Running backs coach (1981), college scout (1982-84), running backs coach (1985-92), director of player personnel (1995-2000).
