FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots are holding a walk-through practice Tuesday afternoon and the story of the day was the one player who showed up wearing a jersey -- running back Steven Jackson.
The Patriots officially announced the signing of Jackson shortly before the walk-through, and he arrived wearing a white Patriots practice jersey with his trademark No. 39.
Running back Montee Ball, who had been signed to the practice squad last week, was previously No. 39.
To make room for Jackson on the roster, the Patriots released defensive tackle Ishmaa'ily Kitchen, who had signed with the club last week.
