Saints 'plan' on having Junior Galette back during training camp

METAIRIE, La. -- Sean Payton said the “plan” is for the New Orleans Saints to have outside linebacker Junior Galette back on the practice field during training camp after Galette learned his pectoral injury won’t require surgery.

A league source confirmed that Galette got the good news Monday after visiting with Dr. James Andrews, as was first reported by the NFL Network.

Galette reportedly received multiple opinions from doctors while hoping to avoid surgery after injuring the pectoral in the weight room.

Payton didn't offer many specifics on the injury. When asked if Galette will be back during training camp, he said, "Yeah, we'll see. But I think that's the plan."

“We’re optimistic," Payton said. "I think all along we’ve kind of just been wanting to make sure enough eyes were on him and kind of do the best thing here as we approach this break.”
