Jets TE Zach Sudfeld clears waivers, placed on IR

No surprise here: Tight end Zach Sudfeld, who was waived Tuesday with the "injured" designation, went unclaimed on waivers and will be added to the New York Jets' injured-reserve list.

Sudfeld was lost for the season after tearing his ACL last week in minicamp. The injury happened when he was knocked down by safety Calvin Pryor in a noncontact drill. By waiving him and placing him on IR, the Jets don't have to keep Sudfeld on the 90-man roster.

Right now, they have five tight ends on the roster -- Jeff Cumberland, Jace Amaro, Kellen Davis, Steve Maneri and rookie free agent Wes Saxton.
