Eagles sign LB Dasman McCullum, waive Dewalt-Ondijo

PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly doesn't have a lot of patience for injured players.

The Eagles waived linebacker Jordan Dewalt-Ondijo with an ankle injury Tuesday. Dewalt-Ondijo is the third injured player released in the past week. Linebacker Brandon Hepburn and defensive lineman B.J. McBryde were let go last week.

Linebacker Dasman McCullum, who was released by Washington on Aug. 1, was signed by the Eagles to take Dewalt-Ondijo's roster spot.

The 6-foot-4, 242-pound McCullum played at Southern Mississippi, where he was hampered by knee injuries. He went undrafted in May and signed as an undrafted free agent with Washington.

McCullum primarily played outside linebacker in college, and he will likely try to make the Eagles' roster at that position. The Eagles don't have great depth there behind starters Connor Barwin and Brandon Graham. Marcus Smith, the 2014 first-round draft pick, is vying to be the backup for both outside linebacker spots.

The Eagles return to practice Tuesday after a day off Monday.
