PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Kiko Alonso said he hopes to play when the Eagles face the Dallas Cowboys after their bye week.
Alonso, who sprained his knee during the Sept. 20 game against the Cowboys, said his knee "feels good" but that he did not do much during practice Wednesday. Defensive coordinator Bill Davis said he expected Alonso to practice and Alonso was listed as “limited” on the Eagles’ official injury report.
“It is frustrating,” Alonso said after practice. “I’m trying to get back out there.”
Mychal Kendricks, another injured inside linebacker, was listed as a full participant in Wednesday’s practice.
“I think you’re your own worst enemy,” Kendricks said, “just listening to that competitive spirit that all of us in this room have. Wanting to get back out there and play some football can be worse. You can end up in a situation like me. You get hurt again. I’m my own worst enemy in that situation.”
Kendricks pulled a hamstring in that Sept. 20 game against the Cowboys. Two weeks later, he tried to play against Washington. He left the game in the first quarter and has missed the Eagles’ two most recent games.
“We’re all working together to try to get me out there,” Kendricks said.
The Eagles play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday night, then have their bye week. Their next game is Nov. 8 at Dallas.
Inside linebacker DeMeco Ryans (hamstring) and wide receivers Nelson Agholor (ankle) and Riley Cooper (knee) did not practice Wednesday. Alonso and defensive end Brandon Bair (groin) were limited.
Kendricks and wide receiver Josh Huff (knee) were full participants.
Wednesday’s practice was shorter than usual because of the Monday night game. The Eagles will have a full practice Thursday. That will be a better indicator of each player’s status.
