LATROBE, Pa. -- Goodbye summer. Hello Pittsburgh Steelers training camp.
Steelers players start streaming into St. Vincent College Friday, and they have until 4 p.m. ET to report to camp. That mandatory check-in time will be followed by a run test, after which coach Mike Tomlin will address the media.
There has already been big news to come out of camp with the Steelers making public their intent to sign quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to a new contract after this season.
The Steelers also made a minor roster move prior to the opening of camp by signing cornerback Lew Toler and releasing linebacker Kion Wilson, who started two games for them last season.
I will be sending updates from St. Vincent throughout the day and for the duration of camp.
Yep, goodbye summer, indeed.
