The first thing the Seattle Seahawks are looking forward at training camp Wednesday is whether safety Kam Chancellor will end his holdout.
Starting Wednesday, the Seahawks will be in position to ask for a portion of the pro-rated signing bonus to be paid back and can also fine him $30,000 a day. Chancellor signed a four-year contract in 2013 that will pay him $7.5 million this season. The Seahawks don’t want pay to him more money with three years remaining on his contract. From the football side, the Seahawks need him on the field, particularly with Earl Thomas out with a shoulder injury.
Along, with the players, coaches took a breather on Tuesday. Wednesday they may be mixing up players and trying them in different positions. The release of defensive tackle Tony McDaniel will probably mean Demarcus Dobbs will move from end to defensive tackle. Ahtyba Rubin should move into the starting spot at defensive tackle next to Brandon Meabane.
There could be more juggling along the offensive line. Fourth-round pick Terry Pool spent the OTAs and minicamp working at guard. On Monday, he got some plays at tackle. Sixth-round pick Kristjan Sokoli was mostly a center during OTAs and the minicamp and the early part of training camp. On Monday, he got some work at guard.
