Every weekday morning, we'll round up local and national Seattle Seahawks-related links.
According to a source, receiver Ricardo Lockette will announce his retirement during a press conference Thursday. Richard Sherman and Doug Baldwin were among his former teammates who reacted to the news:
One of the best teammates you can ask for! Really sad to lose him as a teammate. Example of true grit https://t.co/GsgYz1Uryi

"WR @RicardoLockette, Fort Valley State."

Salute, to a loyal friend and the greatest teammate I've ever had. #LOB pic.twitter.com/qk7BdfNdNl
In his weekly chat, Danny O'Neil of 710 ESPN Seattle was asked if Justin Britt's move to center will pan out:
The short answer: I don’t know. I can almost buy into the idea that with two years of experience, he’s got the best feel for the system of all the players on the team. Then again, I thought he had a worse second year than his first year and that was due to a lack of familiarity with moving inside. Now moving him further inside? I would say that it’s more likely he’s a utility lineman than a starting center.
Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com offers some thoughts on the NFC West:
Only one can win the division, of course, and that provides the far superior route to the Super Bowl, as both clubs are absolute beasts at home. Give me the better quarterback every time, and that's Russell Wilson. I'm not sure how easily Carson Palmer shakes off his latest postseason implosion and I always worry about getting a full season out of him at this stage of his career. And as he goes, so goes that franchise.
