The Seattle Seahawks released defensive tackle Andru Pulu, the team announced Tuesday.
Pulu (6-1, 320) is a Seattle-area player who grew up in Federal Way, Washington, and attended the University of Washington before transferring to Eastern Washington. He signed with Seattle in May as a rookie free agent.
The signing of veteran defensive tackle Kevin Williams two weeks ago and second-year defensive tackle Jesse Williams being healthy again are reasons why Pulu became expendable.
The Seahawks now have an open spot on the 90-man roster.
