Shanaka's four in four balls seals low-scoring tussle for Seattle Orcas

Seattle Orcas 121 for 9 (de Silva 3-15) beat Texas Super Kings 112 for 9 (Ranjane 40*, Shanaka 4-26, Baartman 3-9) by nine runs

Dasun Shanaka claimed four wickets in four balls in a dramatic final over to clinch a nine-run victory for Seattle Orcas over Texas Super Kings.

Chasing 122 for victory, TSK entered the final over on 107 for 5 with Donovan Ferreira and Shubham Ranjane well set in a game where runs had been hard to come by throughout. Ferreria had taken a four and six off his previous two legal deliveries in the 19th over then Ranjane sent Shanaka over point against the first ball of the last over, bringing the equation down to 11 off five balls.

But two deliveries later, Shanaka cleaned Ferreria up with a slower ball, then had Calvin Savage pick out long-on. Adam Milne faced the hat-trick delivery and, knowing he had to find the boundary, went for a big swing which he edged behind. With the game decided, Shanaka ended in style when he had Amshi de Silva caught superbly in the deep by Shimron Hetmyer.

Ottneil Baartman had done the early damage in defending the small total when he removed TSK's openers - Faf du Plessis and Saiteja Mukkamalla - then later added Wiaan Mulder to leave them 50 for 4 in the 11th over. He barely gave a run away, and would finish with 4-1-9-3.

Orcas had slumped to 15 for 3 early on as Milne and Mulder made inroads with the new ball. When Marcus Stoinis fell in the 13th over they were 70 for 7. The top score would end up being Cameron Gannon's 20 at No. 9.

However, crucially, the final over brought 14 runs when Harmeet Singh returned to the middle having previously retired hurt with him and Jasdeep Singh finding vital boundaries.
