6.32pm: Time for the presentations, starting with New Zealand's Amelia Kerr: "Think the wicket was a bit slow, we thought 250 would be a good score. We were set up to do that but unfortunately lost wickets at the back end. Fought hard with the ball to take it deep. Two big moments, with a bit more scoreboard pressure we could have cruised it. We have to learn and be better. Thought our bowlers were outstanding. Fielded well, a bit bumpy out there, too. Mistakes happen, it's part of the game. The bowlers are in a good place, myself not included. [Legspin in Eng] Bit different, been indoors at home. Feel in a good place, but not much rhythm. Those breakthroughs brought us back into the game. [Preparation] We've played more cricket than England, came off a series in April, so in a really good place as a group. To take it as deep as we did shows fight and character. Being out in the middle is the best practice, different format but great prep for the WC."
England captain Charlie Dean is named Player of the Match: "One for one, brilliant start from us. To ship them for 200 made it more doable. To be not out at the end with Tilly was fantastic and what a day she's had there, too. Just holding your nerve and trusting that the girls can do their job, too. [TCC batting] She came in with a plan, she takes everything in her stride. She held her nerve and was brilliant with ball and bat. {NZ innings] Maddy and Melie had a brilliant partnership but we felt we could stay patient, and those wickets at the death made it easier for us. [Fielding still needs work?] Think so, we know our standards and looking forward to that growing as the series goes on. [Injuries] Big squad, room to cover bases. Bit of flexibility and credit to the XI. [Enjoy captaincy?] I did, nerve-wracking at the start but being out on there on the pitch is what I enjoy."
And that, folks, is a wrap from the northeast. Valkerie's report is in the hutch, and there'll be plenty to digest after a harum-scarum game. We'll be back for more on Wednesday, as the series moves to Nottingham. Thanks for keeping us company, from myself and Miller, Chetan and Vairavan, it's good night. Bye!
6.26pm: Welcome to international cricket, Tilly Corteen-Coleman. The 18-year-old picked up two wickets in a solid display with the ball, and then saw off six vital deliveries at the end to help get England over the line. NZ were in it all the way, and arguably on top at various points - but suffered for a collapse of 5 for 7 at the end of their innings, and then couldn't quite nail it when Maia Bouchier fell for 59, leaving England 160 for 7 chasing 211

"Those 8 balls NZ didn't face looking awfully crucial now!" Indeed, Walt. NZ's dismal collapse could be costly
