7:36pm Phew. A dramatic game in the BBL, and it seems like we have had one of those almost every day now. Anyway, we hope you enjoyed our coverage and we will be back at it with more cricket from around the world - all of which can be accessed on ESPNcricinfo. Until next time, from all of us here, it is goodbye!

Saba: "That was peake entertainment to the end!"

Oliver Peake, Player of the Match: Struggling to hit it, pitch was two paced. Had to go for that (scoop) on the last ball and lucky it came off. (On how far he has come and if he is ready to take on the world) Not sure about that. When Sutherland got the win (a few days ago), I should have been there (at the end as well). Learnt from that, tried to take it deep. Got a bit lucky as well. You need some luck always. (On the overturned catch) Not much to make from me. Up to the adjudicators and umps. We saw Starcy do that in the Ashes a couple of years ago.

7:29pm Goodness gracious. Some game, eh?! It swayed one way, then moved the other, and it all came down to Peake and Hardie. And the youngster came out on top. He brought out the scoop, having failed to get the pull away all over and Hardie just could not anticipate it quickly enough. The Renegades, in an ideal world, should not have brought it this deep but once they did, they will be glad that they had Peake front and centre.

A tough pill to swallow for the Scorchers. They would have known they did not have a par total on the board, but they still fared admirably to tighten the screws on the visitors. Their bowlers gave it all and once the dust settles, they may look back on the balls they could not bat in their innings. Small margins, but it is undeniable that they played their part in a BBL classic.

Hardie to Peake, SIX, Oliver Peake, you absolute champion! A nerveless shot under immense pressure, and the stadium goes silent! Oh my days. This is a shot and then some. Hardie goes fuller outside off and that leads to his undoing. Peake somehow pre-empts it, shimmies across and then paddles the living daylights out of this. Clean over short fine leg and Peake leaps into the air in delight. 19 years old, but with ice in his veins. What a knock and what a game!

4 off 1

Hardie to Peake, no run, a massive dot! This is top bowling. Bashed in short and reading up on leg stump
No room to free the arms and Peake splices it back to the bowler

4 off 2. Are we in for a tie?

19.4
2
Hardie to Peake, 2 runs, Hard length, getting big on Peake on off stump. Peake slugs it towards long on, and Peake channels his inner Usain Bolt to make it back for the second
19.3
1
Hardie to Elliott, 1 run, Back of a length outside off. Elliot gives it the big wind-up but only cloths it into the mid off region

7 off 4

1
Hardie to Peake, 1 run, Hard length, slanting into leg stump. Peake has a swipe at it and plinks it just over the bowler. Hardie cannot believe how that has evaded him

Around the wicket now

2
Hardie to Peake, 2 runs, has Peake been run out?! He could be in real trouble here! Back of a length, tucking up the batter. Peake backs away further and shanks it towards long on. He wants to come back for the second but has to scurry every sinew to get there. Allen's throw is sharp and at the stumps but Peake's hustle has trumped that by the barest of margins!

Right. Another final over thriller. Peake versus Hardie for now. 10 off 6. Who are you backing?

Payne to Peake, 1 run, Slower ball on a length on off. Peake drop-kicks it towards deep mid wicket and is happy to keep strike

The mandatory concussion check is being performed. Elliot should be good to go, though

1lb
Payne to Elliott, 1 leg bye, Sharp short ball on off and this climbs through. Elliot swipes at it and gets tagged on the helmet, with the ball popping up towards short third
18.4

Payne to Elliott, 2 runs, Back of a length on the hips. Elliot tucks it between deep mid wicket and deep square leg and races back for two

Payne to Sutherland, OUT, six and out, and the crowd erupts! And we have another twist in this game! Hard length, angling into middle and off from around the wicket. Sutherland steps down and backs away, wanting to go inside out. Slices across it too much, though, and extra cover back-pedals to send the crowd into absolute raptures!

Payne to Sutherland, SIX, Sutherland with a moment of magic! Back of a length in and around off. Sutherland uses his feet, steps down and clubs it over mid off!

Payne to Peake, 1 run, Bashed in short outside off. Peake tries to hit it too hard and scuffs it into the off side

21 off 12. Payne to bowl. Peake on strike

TK: "The rule was correctly adjudicated. I don't agree with the rule as it stands as I believe it should be based on having control of the ball, however the umpires have interpreted the current rule correctly."

Richardson to Sutherland, no run, full and wide outside off. Sutherland throws his hands at it and fails to make contact

3
Richardson to Peake, 3 runs, shortish just outside off. Peake gives himself room and slaps it past a diving extra cover. Back for three more runs
17.4
0
Richardson to Peake, no run, back of a length in the channel. Skips off the surface and Peake, fishing at it, sees the ball whistle past his outside edge
17.3
4
Richardson to Peake, FOUR, four more! Seems like a slower ball that goes wrong. Loopy full toss outside off and Peake shimmies across to scoop it over short fine leg!
17.2
2
Richardson to Peake, 2 runs, slower short ball on leg stump. Peake swivels and heaves it towards deep backward square leg
17.1
1
Richardson to Sutherland, 1 run, fullish outside off. Sutherland backs away and flays it towards extra cover. Takes Connolly on and a direct hit would have been curtains for the MR skipper

Richardson returns

Payne to Peake, FOUR, nails this one! Speared in full on off stump. Peake shuffles across early, gets his bat down in time and laps it over short fine leg!
16.5
0
Payne to Peake, no run, Back of a length delivery wide outside off. Peake walks down and then swings like a rusty gate. Misses the ball by a mile
16.4
1
Payne to Sutherland, 1 run, Back of a length outside off. Sutherland drops it into the off side and canters across

Good to go again. Sutherland on strike. 36 off 21

Boos ringing around the stadium, and understandably so. Although the right decision seems to have been made. There is more confusion now on who should be on strike. If Peake and Sutherland crossed before the catch was taken, the Renegades skipper might be on strike

16.3
1
Payne to Peake, 1 run, Spliced and Turner snaffles it up! Or does he? Banged in short outside off. Peake is dared to go down the ground and he takes up that challenge, only to fall well short. A bit too much outside the arc to flat-bat it fully. A tame lob towards mid on and Turner, running back, takes it nicely over his head. There is a check, however, to see if Turner has grassed it while falling down, and it looks like the ball has touched grass. Turner not entirely in control of his body during that particular sequence, and this is a huge reprieve for Peake!
16.2
0
Payne to Peake, no run, Length ball on leg stump. Comes in with the angle and Peake, trying to smoke that into the ocean, gets nowhere near it. Lucky for him his leg stump is still intact
16.1
1
Payne to Sutherland, 1 run, Slower ball on a length on leg stump. Sutherland glances it towards short fine leg

Right. The Renegades take the Power Surge, with 38 needed off 24. Payne to bowl
