Erik Johnson's prediction for Golden Knights-Avs (1:12)

Erik Johnson joins "The Pat McAfee Show" to preview the Golden Knights-Avalanche Western Conference finals. (1:12)

It took overtime in Game 7, but the Montreal Canadiens advanced to the Eastern Conference finals with an epic series victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Montreal's Stanley Cup winner odds fluctuated wildly throughout the series, with their odds finally slashing from 15-1 before Game 7 to +700 following the win.

That's still last on the odds board, and the Habs will now face the team with the second-best title odds, the Carolina Hurricanes (+170). Carolina is a -275 favorite to win the East, while Montreal comes in at +225.

The Colorado Avalanche remain the Stanley Cup favorites at +130 and will take on the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western Conference final. Vegas is third on the championship odds board at +600 and is a +210 underdog to take the West from Colorado, which comes into the series at -260 to win it.

BetMGM took a $25,000 wager at 11-1 odds on Montreal to win the Eastern Conference, which will pay out $275,000 if successful.
