TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals rookie offensive lineman Chase Bisontis tore his left MCL during Thursday night's preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders, coach Mike LaFleur told reporters Saturday.
LaFleur said Bisontis, Arizona's second-round pick out of Texas A&M, will need surgery. The coach added that Bisontis will miss "a good amount of time," possibly the entire 2026 season, and will be placed on injured reserve at some point.
"It sucks for him," LaFleur said. "I'll always think about the player first. It sucks for the Cardinals, obviously, when you lose a player that is a good player, but more importantly, you hate it for the player."
Bisontis had caught coaches' attention during training camp with his play. He had been working with the second-team offense and was expected to push starter Isaiah Adams for playing time this season.
LaFleur said Bisontis is handling the injury "like a stud, just like how he plays."
"That's the person he is," the coach said. "So he'll attack this thing, and like I said to him yesterday when I called him is, somehow, some way you're going to be better from this because I just think he's made to the right stuff to figure it out."
