Julián Álvarez returned to training with Atlético Madrid on Sunday after missing three sessions last week, as the club stood steadfast in its refusal to allow the star forward to join Barcelona.
Atlético won 3-1 at Sevilla in LaLiga on Saturday -- with Álex Baena scoring twice -- with Alvarez left out of the matchday squad by coach Diego Simeone.
On Friday, Atlético CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín reiterated that he would not negotiate with Barça -- saying "we won't negotiate with Barcelona, with absolute certainty" -- while leaving the door open to a departure elsewhere, if Alvarez should wish.
Alvarez trained with his Atlético teammates at the club's Cerro del Espino training ground on Sunday, in his first group session since missing training last Wednesday and Thursday, and working individually on Friday.
The club said the Argentina international was "unwell" with Gil Marín adding that Alvarez was "confused" and "in a very difficult situation, both personally and professionally," blaming Barcelona for the situation.

"It's a personal process," Simeone said postmatch on Saturday, when asked about Alvarez's condition. "We're here to help him in a sporting sense and for him to help us, because he's an extraordinary player."
