After missing last season, Glory Johnson signs with Dallas Wings

The Dallas Wings signed two-time WNBA All-Star Glory Johnson to a multi-year contract on Monday.

Johnson sat out the past season while pregnant with twins.

"It means a lot," Dallas coach Fred Williams said of the signing. "She's a player who's already proven in the league. It's nice to see she wants to be back with us in Dallas."

Johnson will have to sit out the first seven games of the season, as the league suspended her last year after a domestic violence arrest.

She has averaged 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds in her career. Williams doesn't expect the long layoff to affect Johnson much.

"It's my job and the staff's job to get her ready," Williams said. "She's got a big cushion there in training camp. For me, it's like having money in the bank."
