The WNBA rescinded the technical foul that Dream forward Angel Reese picked up in Atlanta's 101-83 loss to the Portland Fire on Friday, the league confirmed to ESPN's Alexa Philippou, meaning she remains at seven on the season and will not be suspended for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Lynx.
Reese was called for the technical in the fourth quarter after she got tangled up with Portland guard Carla Leite when Leite was trying to box out Reese. Players who reach eight technical fouls during the regular season are suspended for one game and fined $1,500.
Atlanta coach Karl Smesko said after the game that from his vantage point "it didn't look like something that was tech-worthy."
Reese picked up her seventh technical foul July 9 against the Seattle Storm.
"She's been really good. She went a long time without getting a technical ... she was doing a great job," Smesko said.
The Dream's game against the first-place Lynx on Sunday is their last before the FIBA World Cup break.
Reese, who tied a WNBA single-season record with her 28th double-double Friday with 16 points and 16 rebounds, is on the U.S. World Cup team.
