JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars will hold their seventh training camp practice Friday morning at the fields adjacent to EverBank Field. The workout is open to the public.
The schedule: 9:55 a.m. -- 12:15 p.m. ET.
News conferences: Coach Gus Bradley (12:15 p.m. ET).
What to watch for: Bradley said undrafted rookie LB Thurston Armbrister and second-year linebacker Khairi Fortt have performed well the past several days so they bear watching on Friday and especially in Saturday's scrimmage. The center competition between Luke Bowanko and Stefen Wisniewski has been pretty even, with the players splitting time with the first-team offense.
Wednesday highlights: DE Ryan Davis destroyed LT Luke Joeckel in one-on-one pass rush drills. Davis got underneath Joeckel's pads and drove him back several steps and had an easy run at the quarterback. ... WR Allen Hurns made a leaping catch for a touchdown in red zone drills. ... CB Aaron Colvin intercepted a pair of passes (though one is in dispute pending film review). One came when he was lined up inside on a tight end and the other came when he was lined up outside on a receiver. He's working at both spots, which is rare for someone in just his second season. ... QB Blake Bortles threw both of those interceptions but he wasn't rattled. He ended practice with a 4-yard touchdown run in a red zone drill. ... K Josh Scobee hit a 65-yard field goal.
Injury report: CB Peyton Thompson (hamstring), CB Dwayne Gratz (calf), DE Jared Odrick (knee), and WR Marqise Lee (hamstring) did not practice Thursday. TE Julius Thomas was held out of the last part of practice with back tightness but Bradley said Thomas should practice on Friday. DT Sen’Derrick Marks (knee) and S James Sample (arm) remain on the PUP list. DE Chris Clemons (undisclosed) remains on the active/non-football injury list.
Looking ahead: The Jaguars will scrimmage at EverBank Field on Saturday (6-8:20 p.m.) before taking Sunday off.
