On April 23, middleweight boxing champion Gennady "Triple G" Golovkin will defend his titles only steps from the future home of the Los Angeles Rams in Inglewood.
Golovkin will take on Dominic Wade at the Forum, the former home of the Los Angeles Lakers. The Forum sits next to the Hollywood Park plot of land where the Rams are building their palatial new football stadium and development, which is set to open in 2019.
Perhaps with that in mind, Golovkin plans to give a nod to the team's return to the City of Angels by wearing team colors for the fight. Tom Loeffler, Golovkin's fight promoter, revealed that tidbit of information on Twitter earlier this week.
Golovkin, who is from Kazakhstan but lives in Los Angeles, followed up with a welcome back message to the Rams.@GGGBoxing will be wearing the @RamsNFL colors for his April 23 fight at @theforum in honor of the team coming back to #LA! #GolovkinWade

The Rams are moving out of St. Louis by the end of the month and will just be settling into Los Angeles in the weeks before the fight. In fact, they are expected to begin their offseason conditioning program on April 18 in Oxnard, California.
