After nearly a decade-long hiatus, the SDCCU Poinsettia Bowl will return to college football's postseason this year, the bowl announced Thursday.
The game will feature a team from the revamped Pac-12 against a team from either the ACC, Big 12 or Big Ten. It will be played at San Diego State's Snapdragon Stadium on Dec. 23, and be televised by the CW Network. CW Sports can also be seen on the ESPN App.
"We're thrilled to bring back the SDCCU Poinsettia Bowl," said Mark Neville, CEO of Sports San Diego. "SDCCU has been an incredible partner to Sports San Diego for many years and having them lead this comeback means everything to us. This game holds a special place in our community, and we can't wait for its return at Snapdragon Stadium this December."
It is one of two bowl games that will be played at Snapdrgaon, alongside the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 28.
The Poinsettia Bowl was previously played from 2005-2016 but was discontinued amid uncertainly related the changing bowl landscape.
