There is potential to make a lot of money on the PGA Tour. In 2026 alone, winners of signature events took home about $3.6 million from total purses of $20 million. Cash pools in standard PGA Tour tournaments generally range from $8 million to $10 million.
Even players at the bottom of the leaderboard can bring in $20,000 to $30,000 just for making the cut and finishing in last place.
But golfers like Scottie Scheffler, who routinely finds himself situated toward the top of the leaderboard on Sundays, have made a killing on the tour's fairways and greens. Scheffler netted a guaranteed $23 million in bonus money just for topping the 2026 FedEx Cup points race heading into the season finale.
Matt Fitzpatrick, who finished second in the FedEx Cup standings behind Scheffler, took home $13 million in bonus money, and third-place finisher Wyndham Clark received $8 million. Ryan Fox, the 30th and final qualifier for the Tour Championship, earned a $460,000 bonus.
