Nottingham Forest are keen on bringing in striker Liam Delap from Chelsea, sources have told ESPN.
Delap, 23, was omitted from Chelsea's squad for their Premier League opening win over Fulham on Monday, and Forest are understood to be keen on adding him to their squad before next week's transfer deadline.
Oliver Glasner, the Forest manager, said on Monday he was confident the club would "get in two more high-quality players" and Delap is understood to be their first-choice target to bolster their attacking options.
Delap has been training away from the first-team group at Chelsea along with other players who are currently not in Xabi Alonso's plans.
Delap joined Chelsea from Ipswich for £30 million ($41m) last summer. In his sole season at Stamford Bridge, Delap scored one Premier League goal in 28 appearances. He has also scored for Chelsea in the Champions League.
When Alonso was asked about Delap's future on Monday after Chelsea's 3-2 win, he said: "About transfers, personal situations, I am not the one to ask."
